Using Pump and Valve relays
You can use the mechanical relays to directly control pumps and valves needing up to 240v.
You can use the SSR outputs directly to control devices needing up to 12v at 0.5A. These outputs don’t have a protection diode, there is one per SSR in the driver chip but I’m not relying on that. You can drive an SSR from these too if you need to modulate or PWM a powered device.
If you have a free mechanical relay slot you can remove it and replace it with a PhotoMOS SSR. These solder in where the relay is and can switch a max of 400V and 2A, depending on the combination. So you can turn a mechanical relay into a PWM/modulated relay.
